WOMEN’S SAFETY EXPERT REVEALS FIGHTING SECRETS USED IN THE BOURNE IDENTITY SERIES TO STOP RAPISTS COLD

Hillsboro, OR – March 8th, 2008 – When local Self Defense Expert Scott Buendia heard of the rash of violence against women and children, he knew that he had to do something about it.  In response, he has set up a self defense seminar at LA Boxing just for females using some of the techniques used in movies like the Bourne Identity.

“When you’re talking about a street fight, and not a cage fight, then you have to approach it totally differently,” says Buendia.  “You have to take into account the possibility of weapons, the terrain (if you’re even thinking about grappling), and multiple attackers.”

Buendia says that even though any kind of training helps someone prepare to defend themselves against an attacker, the realities of a weapon or multiple attackers are often not discussed.

“That’s where the right art is critical.  You have to have an art that looks at the fight as a changing and mutable thing.  It’s usually never going to be fair, and you’re probably going to have to fight dirty.” The self defense expert remarked. “You have to have an art that’s quick, brutal, and efficient at saving your life.”

Buendia was schooled in the same fighting arts as used in the movies 300 and the Bourne Identity, which were a mix of Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee’s art) and Filipino Martial Arts (among other arts).  Both Jeff Imada (fight choreographer for the Bourne Identity) and Damon Caro (the fight choreographer for 300) are martial arts instructors from Dan Inosanto’s academy (one of the 3 people certified by Bruce Lee himself to teach Jeet Kune Do).  Buendia’s own instructor came from the same school and has in the past taught the Navy SEALs team 6.

“These arts were set up to end a fight quickly, and that’s why they have been sought after by Hollywood and military units, that kind of art could go a long way in saving your life,” says Buendia.

The seminar will take place at LA Boxing Portland located at 1870 NW 188th Avenue in Hillsboro, OR 97124.  You can call LA Boxing for information at (503) 573-IBOX.  You can also register by e-mail by e-mailing noholdsbarredfitness@gmail.com.  The cost for LA Boxing members is $10 and $20 bucks for non-members.
